Two teenagers were recently arrested in connection with an attack purportedly
carried out on a Pennsylvania man in his home. The
criminal charges include attempted murder. Both youths have been taken into custody to
await further proceedings in this case.
The older teen, age 19, has been charged with attempted homicide, while
the 17-year-old is currently being held in a juvenile facility. According
to the police report, the two teens allegedly entered the home of the
victim in the early morning hours on a recent Saturday. After they purportedly
gained entry, they were reportedly confronted by the man of the house.
At that time, the 34-year-old man was allegedly attacked and stabbed repeatedly
by the older teen.
It is unclear what happened immediately after the altercation and at what
point the young men left the home. Police say that the teens also removed
two cellular phones from the premises. The victim was transported for
surgery and is reportedly in serious condition.
According to Pennsylvania police, the accused teenagers were also involved
in a vandalism of a church located on the same street; however, there
was no report suggesting what evidence may have led the authorities to
that conclusion, nor have additional criminal charges been announced.
While it was unknown if either had sought defense counsel, they have every
right to protect themselves against these serious allegations. They are
presumed innocent of the accusations unless and until government prosecutors
can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they are guilty of the crimes
charged. They are guaranteed the right to face their accusers in court
and to seek a favorable outcome that is in the best interests of each
