One mishap in the workplace can result in serious injuries that can prohibit
a person from being able to continue working for a time. No matter how
careful companies and employees in Pennsylvania try to be, sometimes
workplace accidents are inevitable. One man in a different state recently suffered injuries
on the job and is currently recovering.
The man, an excavator operator, was hurt while working on a building that
was being demolished. The building was being torn down so that condos
could be erected in the area. According to authorities, the excavator
ended up crashing through the floor and into a basement area through an
When paramedics discovered him, the man was moaning and had suffered major
injuries to his back. He was removed from the site by emergency personnel,
and his medical condition was deemed serious. The Occupational Safety
and Health Administration received word of the incident, and the inspector
of the building was also called to this accident scene.
When injury-causing workplace accidents occur in Pennsylvania, employees
may immediately become panicked, knowing that they may not be able to
work again for several weeks or even months. Many people simply do not
have enough savings to accommodate missing work for an extended period
of time. Fortunately, workers' compensation benefits can help workers
to receive a percentage of their regular earnings while they are recovering.
These benefits can additionally help them to get the medical treatment
they need. Any person who has been hurt at work has the right to aggressively
pursue the full amount of benefits to which he or she is entitled.
